Whether you have tried speed dating or not, I can tell you personally, that it's DEFINITELY an experience!
There's always something great about the event, whether it's meeting new people, to hanging out with and catching up with the people you came with, the drink specials, the crowd, the event host or ALL of it!
People seem to think that Speed Dating is a meat market, but really, it's a great way to meet (not meat) several different dateworthy people in a short amount of time!

Depending on your age range, and your own age, will depend on which company you will most likely use.
Date and Date generally goes for the younger crowds, up to mid forties, as 8 Minute dating goes for people in many age categories. Date and dash is about 24 to 30 dollars an event, ad 8 minute dating is a little more expensive with their typical 38.00 an event price. To some, it's worth it. Others tend to try free dating websites.

I think we get into a realm of "pickiness" where we have a list of what we think we should have, and that we won't "settle" for anything less. Whether someone works at a certain place, or makes a certain amount doesn't matter as long as he can manage his money well, and takes care of his finances.
Someone who may have a child would have more patience.
Someone who isn't always "hot" in the looks department, at first, may end up looking pretty awesome to you after 3 or 4 dates.
Someone who doesn't talk much on dates 1 and 2 , but may open up on dates 3 and 4.
Give someone 3 dates, and 3 different activities before completely shutting the door.
If he doesn't call right away, it doesn't mean he isn't interested.
Age can sometimes only be a number.
No one is "better" than you, and you aren't "better" than anyone else.
Just because you don't think you would be someone's "type" and they wouldn't be yours, doesn't mean you can't talk to them and strike up a conversation.

Whatever "must have " list you have, make sure it's current. Update it every 3 months.
Date and think "outside the box"
Be open to new experiences. (If you have never had sushi, and she suggests a sushi place, try it.)

There are many dating websites out there. They can be fun and successful as long as the info you are filling out is correct.

Many online dating sites ask you ti fill out questionnaires or surveys. As annoying as it is, please make the time to fill it out. It will get your closer to "Mr.Right" or at least someone with his potential anyway.

What to look for:
*No pictures- If this person doesn't have pictures, it's not always a trustworthy case. Enough said.
*No description- Yeah this persons picture isn't bad looking, but how do you know if this person is real or not?
*Very little description- yeah they took the time to fill out what they are looking for, and what they want their match to be like...What about YOU? If he can't make the time to tell you about himself or tell you what kind of person he is, chances are, he won't care what YOU want later on in the relationship (if it gets that far). Either that, or he's just plain lazy, or hiding something, (the person he is) ..Red Flag..Bad News..
*Someone who uses the word NEED in his description- Using the word "need" means just that. This person isn't looking for someone he wants to get to know, he NEEDS someone, to either fill a missing void in his life, or to replace someone who just left his life (either through death, divorce or breakup)
*Bad grammar- This person can't spell very well, they may or may not be a deal breaker to you, but it seems very sloppy and not very attractive.

Most sites require a credit card to talk to or email members, However, there usually are deals online and you can get a good price if you check their sites regularly. But, because these sites charge a membership fee to get in contact with other members, you have a better chance of meeting someone "quality".

That website is awesome for finding books that other books stores won't have.
However, If you want to check out Barnes and Noble or Borders , they have a great selection too of dating books as well.
On their sites, you can see if it's actually carried or sold in the store.

I know it sounds kind of funny just "showing up" to an event that you will have no idea who is there, and
won't know who to look for and not even sure you belong there.
